Invasive Species Removal
The presence of invasive species can cause significant problems for a development. We have the knowledge and experience to remove these species to move your project forward.
The discovery of invasive non-native species (INNS) can cause costly delays to a project, but if they are not properly controlled, it can put the landowner or developer at risk of prosecution under Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1989. Species of most common concern are Japanese knotweed, giant hogweed, Himalayan balsam and rhododendron.
As members of the Property Care Association (PCA), JHD Ecological can provide a qualified surveyor to assess the issue and develop a management plan based on the species and your requirements. From this we can carry out a range of services from herbicide treatment to excavation, to remove the plant from your property. Whether you have one individual stem of Japanese knotweed, or a full woodland of rhododendron, we can recommend the best way forward.
All of our INNS work is backed by our 10-year company warranty, and we offer the option of a third party insurance-backed guarantee for added future security.
